Wild Ire is classified as a 5 piece alternative progressive pop band originating out of Salem, OR. After forming in late 2014 we were hard at work writing synergy - enough to supplement a full set list come our first show in 2015 which ultimately lead to the release of our first EP by 2016. Riding the wave of positive response to our EP had then catapulted us to the release of our first full length album “Antisocial Butterfly” which features our hit song “Ragtime Gal.”
Since then, Wild Ire has been soaring the skies of opportunity and prosperity which landed us an amazing invitation to play at the internationally known NAMM Show, in Anaheim, California in 2020.
Wild Ire is set to release our newest record titled “Take Me Away” July 21st, 2023.
When it comes to our writing style and classification, we love to genre bend to create an assortment of music that can be enjoyed across a very large array of listeners whether they are a fan yet or not. We are Progressive Pop. We are Wild Ire.
After watching the movie “That Thing You Do” Nick turner knew he was destined to play the drums. At age 12 he took that dream seriously when starting his first band in the 6th grade and started teaching himself the drums. As he progressed further in his playing; he ended up taking his first lesson from Ivan de Prume (formerly of White Zombie) while playing in metal bands most of his formative years. He yearned to expand his playing abilities! Taking years of lessons and playing in multiple bands until finding himself as one of the founding members of Wild Ire. Even in this band he’s gathered accolades like going to the semi-finals for the guitar center drum off in LA along with many other notorieties. Nick in his down time loves himself a Coke Zero with some popcorn while watching movies.
Jesse has been playing guitar and bass for almost 20 years now. He was fortunate enough to have parents to pay for lessons and he had about 6 different guitar teachers over the course of his career as a musician and is still taking online classes. Being the best guitarist in the world was his goal throughout his early years of playing. He wanted to be the best at every genre. So he tried to learn everything he possibly could about guitar music and technique. Ultimately being one of the first core members who created Wild Ire from the ground-up.
Having started singing (From this moment by Shania Twain) before he could talk at the age of 2, Jake had always dreamt of being in a rock band. Growing up Christian and listening to bands like Switchfoot and Relient K, he specifically always wanted to be the lead singer/rhythm guitarist. He took some guitar lessons through the years but they never panned out and ultimately started self teaching himself guitar in high school. He, also, was very involved in choir throughout his school days. He was accepted into All-City choir, Oregon State choir, All Northwest choir, and being 1 of 85 singers to be accepted into the internationally known Oregon Bach festival. Come 2015, from air guitaring/singing in the shower and in choirs to being asked to be in Wild Ire as one of the 3 remaining core members from the start has been a huge dream come true for him. During Jakes down time he is a full time cat/dog dad.
Born and raised in Salem, OR, Alex began singing at an early age after being introduced to musicals such as Into The Woods and Jesus Christ Superstar. In the third grade his mother signed him up for piano lessons, however his eight year old attention span couldn’t handle the concepts of learning to read sheet music, scales, and taking the time to actually practice, which he now deeply regrets. Following in the footsteps of his older brother he participated in choir from fifth grade to the end of high school. He spent his 20s mastering his craft of live sound mixing for vocal jazz ensembles, military briefings, and regional musical theatre productions.
He joined Wild Ire in 2020, and has been given a second chance at tickling the ivories.
Hailing from Aumsville, Oregon, Rio has been a performing musician for over a decade. After playing in several rock bands throughout his early years, Rio took his talents to the University of Oregon School of Music where he further refined his skills. Shortly after returning to the Salem area, Rio joined Wild Ire in the Spring of 2022. When he’s not rocking with the Ire, Rio enjoys running long distances and maintaining his status as the most handsome member of the band.
